Had my first big crash yesterday too 
No ice, just some extrmely dodgy tarmac...knee is swollen like a balloon, elbow has a MASSIVE bruise on it and everything else just aches like I've been pummelled
Pedal on bike is a bit mangled but everything else seems OK - tbh couldn't be bothered to look this morning as I was feeling extremely sorry for myself.

Yes. I fell off my Ryan Vanguard years ago, and it just sort of toppled over, leaving me still clipped into it lying on the floor.
The othe rgood thing about it was that I could go to sleep on it on the way home from a night shift.Hope you recover soon, Sayek ... at least your bike isn't damaged.
