So today I cycled to the allotment (20 mile round trip) using NCR75. This was my first time using a cycle path, and it'll be my last. Give me the road any day. You can't bomb along on a path, the surfice isn't nice as a road, there is glass everywhre... then the PEDs n POBs. On the way back I went via the road... bliss

I don't bomb along anyway so no problem.Didn't notice any glass just the odd pothole.

Your allotment is 10 miles away?

Mine's only a 10-15 minute walk away and even then I'm pretty lazy with the weeding.

You must get some workout when you harvest your potatoes.

Getting an allotment in Glasgow is like filling dead men’s boots, and the politics that go with it! So I share one across the city. It’s a nice workout and a nice little breather from the gym.

Just shows the difference a few miles can make, I use NCR75 to get to work in West Lothian (prob about 7 miles on the cycle path) and find it a much better surface than the road, and apart from a couple of sections where I meet some dog walkers I rairly see anyone so can "bomb" along (however my "bomb" is more than likely slightly slower than yours )

This was not the NCR but this has reminded me, I was out for a walk yesterday lunchtime from work and a couple of council workers were out emptying the dog poo bins. One of them came up to me and asked me if I had seen any glass on the path I had come along as they had had some reported and he could not find it and was a worried the person reporting it had told him the wrong place!! Fair play to him I thought.

Must admit I found some glass on the cycle path going up to Waterloo the other week due to the p-heads as it was a beer bottle.Seems normal nowadays though.Cleared it away.Lots of peoples use that path.
