Opened some junk mail and it's got a card for £35 of DVD rentals from LoveFilm for free for someone other than me.

Anyone want it posting?

Having read the conditions - you've got to use it before May next year and once the subscription runs out it keeps you on account and starts charging you.

That's a few free nights in.

First come first served.

Ohhh I think I have 2 £50 lovefilm vouchers knocking about at home as well.
Too much hassle for me to sign up again, I'll see if I can find them anywhere when I'm back at the weekend if anyone's interested!

I use Sofa cinema, who run a similar system, we pay a monthly fee of £8,00 for this we get 4 films a month posted to us and after we have watched them we slip them back in to the envelope and return them it's great if. like us you love movies, but cant get out to the cinema much, You can create your own list on the interenet of the movies you want it's great.

Hey Longers we got the same.

I was wondering if we could cancel ours and use the vouchers for a few months - we're on the £11 a month unlimited rentals but only 2 home at a time deal. Bit of hassle though.

I think it's a great service. Great way to access films you've always wanted to see.

I came to Love from Amazon (Probably needs a re-phrase that). So I'm on a 2 films a month for £3.99 package with an extra rental of £1.99 if I want it. Can't fault it really, not when a trip to the cinema costs me over £25 for all of us.

It's for new members only (IIRC) and you're ineligible if you've had a trial with them before I think...

We're with LoveFilm on a £9.99 a month, unlimited, one-at-a-time DVD package... seems to be the best value as long as you watch and return the films quickly you can get quite a few in. Only get BluRays now though, been spoilt and can't go back to just ordinary DVDs.:smile:

I've just signed up for a 3 month free trial - a mate who's already a member gave me a special offer code so there must be a few knocking around. The great thing is is that you can sign up for their most expensive service, then cancel it at the end of the trial. Pikey, moi?

I tried LoveFilm for a month and to make the most of it you need to turn the films round pretty quickly.

I think we watched 6 films in that time, but that meant watching them as soon as they arrived and sticking them back in the post the next day. I'm just not that organised that I could put up with doing this long-term.

The writing's already on the wall for this sort of business.

I'd be surprised if you decide not to keep it on after that - it really is good.

This is considering that I know as much about User482 as I do about Plato.

No, what I'll do is get Mrs User482 to sign up for another 3 month trial.

Works a treat for the introductory offers on cases of wine.

Six months unlimited rentals should be enough time to see everything you want to see right enough. We've finished working through the classics and are now onto things like "Hancock" and "PS I Love You".

I had two months free with Love Film. I went to cancel and they offered me another month half price which I accepted. There service was pretty good, but then I kept getting damaged DVDs so I got rather fed up and left.

More recently I tried The Sun's DVD club which also does a free trial period. I won't be renewing with them because they seemed slow to send out DVDs which limits how many films you get in a month. Some DVDs I received were dirty and needed cleaning before they'd play. Their range isn't great and I've had some films set as high priority requests for weeks and not received them. But the link is above in anyone wants to try it out, you may be luckier than me.

Thought I'd revive this old thread. Anyone want a free trial? I'm currently on 3 months for the price of 1, but have a code for a free 30 day trial if anyone is interested.

They seem to be pretty good at turning discs around. I'm on the game package as well, so I get sent one PS3 game and one DVD at a time. There are some films that you can watch online for free as well which they didn't have the last time I was with them a few years ago. I've found it a good way to play games I'd probably not buy but want to have a decent go on.
