Two examples of poor driving, the first one probably just the worst as they tried the classic parallel pull out but failed.

I had two numpties this morning, one annoyed at me for getting in their way, as I cycled at 25mph in a 30mph zone through pinch points in primary and on the rest of the road out of the door zone of parked cars. Then just a little later an oncoming driver squeezing past an oncoming cyclist and me, whilst blinded by the low sun, in order to get to a car park about 20 metres away. It's that Friday feeling again.

Can't see your videos at work.
It is funny how these things come in batches, though - one day this week everyone seemed to be passing me fast and close; I don't know if it was the light, or the weather, or if I was an inch closer to the kerb than usual.... very odd.

Ditch the bell, it's useless

Well red on both of them, i've seen a few video camera cyclists who just don't slow down to these!

I don't know why I dinged the bell - just a reaction.
I do use it for a bit of bridlepath that I use, combined with a cheery "hello" or "good morning/afternoon" or "excuse me please"

The airzound is more satisfying and can make you feel better! Here was my pull out from Wednesday. Doesn't look so bad now on video, but I still had to brake quite hard.

P.s. I seem to have forgotten how to embed the video. Can you explain how you do it. Thanks

You nearly got it, except you tried to use the embed URL - you just need to use the normal URL:

It's sometimes hard to tell. An incident that was really bad can often look quite inconsequential on video.
The fact that you were able to safely slow down with a decent gap doesn't mean it was OK - with a wet road it could easily have been a slide and an off.

If it had been dry then you might have only had to dab the brakes though, so it was bad driving for the conditions rather than bad no matter what.

I think the trouble is that drivers equate "cyclist" with "I've got plenty of time to pull out" - they just don't stop to consider how fast we're going.

I frequently notice a similar effect going round roundabouts on my motorbike - it is easily possible to go round a round about much faster on a bike than in a car, but many drivers are very poor at judging speed! So I'm ready for 'em ...

You seem to be travelling at a fair speed - probably caught them by susprise.

The Vauxhall driver made no effort to speed up once pulling out.

In both cases my spidey sense was tingling. My hands were on the brakes before I'd consciously clocked the cars. Interesting how you get really attuned to the situation without even realizing it.

+1

I've had three pullouts in last three months, all on a roundabout and all have appeared to see me first.

IMO, these "incidents" were not worth the effort it took to upload and post them. The drivers did pull out on you, but since we cant do much if anything about the 3rd party, lets discuss what you could do to make such occurances less frightening for you. In the video, you could see what was happening up ahead from some distance and could have slowed more gradually rather than tonking it within a few yards then slamming brakes on, also for your own piece of mind it could be worth taking a more outward possition and covering your brakes early when passing adjoining roads, just incase.

The 3rd video, if you were braking hard in that video, then your brakes must be absolutely shite, even in the wet!

This is said with the benefit of hindsight, on the road things can be different, but based on the video's these look like non-incidents to me.
