thanks, some people on other cycle forums do laugh as its a budget bike but ive never had issues with the frame or gears whilst their 1000 quid bikes their frame has developed cracks and their gears and other parts have had issues so makes me laugh when they call a budget bike crap when it performs well on the road and the gears and brakes and frame has not had a single issue, think ammaco bikes are under rated when they are being used in the concrete jungle.

The cold and wet weather is perfect to go for a muddy ride,as cyberknight says if it does its job its good enough, looks a tidy bike in my eyes mate

I think at times "enthusiasts " forget not everyone wants or can afford to ride a bike that can win the TDF and we can have a bit of tunnel vision when it comes to budget bikes, it is true that there a lot of cheap , nasty bikes around but you can find some gems that do exactly what it says on the tin .

amen to that, as parts wear out i am upgrading them to make the bike little better, i am currently on semi slicks which has made a difference on road surface and made the bike little fast as drag level has gone down and even got quick release on my seat post now instead of allan key bolt system, next will be front suspension upgrade to probably rock shoxs

Ok here we disagree finally

Unless your going offroad suspension is not really needed as the tyres offer enough cushioning , if i was going to change the forks i would go for a standard non suspension one to save weight .Quick realese stems are ok but a bit of a gimmick as you do not really change your seat height a lot and a standard bolt stops someone stealing your seat post easily and i would guess that a standard bolt is liable to be lighter and stop potential slippage more.

There might be a problem with upgrading to rock shoxs, iirc rock shoxs are 1 1/8 steerer and your forks will be 1" so the rocks wont fit, unless theres an older pair in 1" steerer.
