I've just had to help out a competitor from the 2013 Zurich Ironman. He's a friend of one of my wife's work colleagues and has to be at the airport at 5am to catch a flight to Zurich but he couldn't get the SPD pedals off his bike to get the bike in to it's travel case 
Anyway, 60 seconds of flexing my muscles with a 15mm spanner and he is a happy chap and goes on his way with my spanner, to be returned as soon as he gets back.
Just looking at the website, I can see it is a challenge but it doesn't look like fun. I'm ok with the swimming and cycling but to run a marathon as well!
