A lovely Mercian 531 Frame, renovated (i.e. resprayed) by Mercian some years ago, so has some light chips or scratches from normal used and no major damage. I'm selling it complete with the headset and sealed ST bottom bracket fitted. Both bearings are in great condition, but someone has clearly used an adjustable spanner or similar on the headset locknut, so it's 'bruised' a little but perfectly good functionally (please see photo 5) . As you can probably tell I'm a bit of a perfectionist about bikes.
Seat tube is 22 Inch centre/top, the top tube is 22 inch centre/centre. Rear wheel OLN dimension is 130mm, and the seatpin size is 27.2 (standard for 531 DB tubing). It is suitable for allen-key fitting brake callipers and also has mounts for a rear rack (see photo 7) and mounts for 2 bottle cages. All threads are in good condition. The frame number is 11996 (see photo 8 ), so a 1996 frame, and Mercian may well be able to confirm when they renovated it, along with any prior history. A lovely 531 lugged frame with heart shaped cutouts, at a bargain price for anyone who has always wanted a Mercian. If you need any more photos or info please ask.
