29ers why different forks

Hi guys been looking at the 29er bikes and noticed a few manufact- go for steel forks like genesis and others keep with the suspension forks,basically wondered why,maybe you guys could enlighten me thanks

There is not as much choice of suspension forks for 29er's because of the extra clearance required.

The theory is that the larger wheels don't need as much suspension as 26ers and why you see more rigid 29ers than 26ers. 29ers roll over stuff on the trail easier than 26ers. In theory.
I don't really see it, I have both 29ers and 26ers and I'm always going to get a mtb with front suspension.
