2GB Netbooks

There doesn't seem to be many decent 2GB Ram netbooks available that aren't priced over £300. They mostly seem to come with 1GB and I was curious as to the performance of these running Windows 7 as it doesn't seem to be enough.

Although, I would only use it for internet\email\skype so is 1GB enough?

I have a Samsung N145 Plus that cost me around £200 - it came with 1GB memory and it ran Windows 7 without any particularly noticeable problems.

Memory for netbooks tends to be really cheap anyhow - I recently upgraded to a 2GB DDR3 memory module for the grand total of £9.63 (delivered) from Crucial Technologies. It has made things run a little smoother - particularly streamed internet content.

Skype - or any other video messaging facility for that matter - was shocking on the last 1GB netty I used.

Skype Video Calls run perfectly on my N145 with the 2GB installed - I never tried Video calls when it only had 1GB - it was useable for Voice calls (just).

IMHO I wouldnt run win 7 on a netbook unless of course you have a specific reason

I need to upgrade my N150 before I try it again.

I have a N150, well it's a NC10 Plus but only the name changes as inside is the same as the N150..... in fact, even the bios tells you it's a N150.

I run skype video call fine, however, I'm running ubuntu 10.10 - maybe your internet connection is the problem.
