Despite our ever increasing knowledge of space we still only know a fraction, tiny fraction of what's out there. The oceans are similar. In some instances it flys in in the face of what we consider established facts causing rethinking of entire 'known' models.

The reverse trailing tail is very odd, or this is what it appears to be. Science can only try to explain things with a point of reference they can link to something known.

didn't Hale Bop have a reversed tail as it orbited the Sun? I remember it having two tails; one blown by the solar wind and the other caused by its direction of travel.

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
I remember talking about the Rendlesham Forest incident with someone years ago. (US Air Force base, strange lights, wooo).

Anyway the person I was talking to was of the opinion that there was sufficient inconsistency and oddness that maybe there was something in it ... maybe it was aliens.

My view was that it could all be explained by Errol Brown and Hot Chocolate testing out secret disco lights in the forest. I was accused of not taking it seriously but my point was that although the Errol Brown explanation was a bit fanciful it was still orders of magnitude more likely than aliens. After all, we knew that Errol Brown actually existed for a start.

So back to 3I Atlas. Aliens? Nope. The explanation is never aliens. The ghost of Errol Brown? Hmm ... pretty unlikely. Even as a Hot Chocolate fan I'm unwilling to push that too far. But it's still more likely than aliens.

There are currently numerous 'facts' and theories out there, some of, all of or non of them may prove true.
