5s or note 3

Right I'm due a phone upgrade !
Narrowed it down to the iphone 5s or the samsung note 3

Currently use a 4s but fancy a change. The blokey in the phone shop says that there isn't a better spec phone than the note!
Thoughts please.......


Ps , the only concern on the note will be how big it will look strapped to my handlebars

Think of a note as a small iPad. It can do everything,but is a big beast.

I got the S4 phone because the note 3 won't fit in my pocket, but performance specs are about the same. Android OS is good (slightly better than iOS), but I'm find on the whole the android apps suck compared to iOS. The depth of peripherals and apps for apple devices is so much richer than for samsung and android. I'm counting the days I can switch back to apple.

Apparently people have already worked out how to bypass the iPhone 5s fingerprint doo dah!

The Note is not a phone it's a small tablet!

S4 is best all round phone IMO (and FWIW I used to worship at the altar of Apple!)

5s is very nice, my contract was up anyway so went for it.

Do i need it, probably not. Dies the scanner work, yes and certainly lots of people wanted to try it. Slow mo video .

Gone and ordered the note3. If I don't like it I can send it back within 14 days

The Note is not a phone it's a small tablet!

The note 3 is more of a phone than the note 2 was. Despite the bigger screen it is no wider or taller and is actually thinner. It is considerably lighter and a bit thinner than the note 2 so surprisingly could almost pass as a massive phone, whereas I fully agree the note 2 was a phablet. The different backing options some people have not decided to have massive covers on to protect it again making it more phone than phablet.

As others have already mentioned, do at least check out the htc one. It's the best phone I've had and from my experience in the past htc service/warranty is also great.

I'm not sure I like the idea of using any smartphone strapped to handlebars, they're not quite as rugged as they were in the old immortal nokia days

Considered the htc one max but I take a hell of a load of photos on my phone and the picture quality on the htc just doesn't do anything for me, especially compared to the samsung.
Oh well I will find out if I made the right choice come Tuesday

I went with the S4 mini. Would have gone for the HTC One Mini but couldn't get on a reasonable deal..
