I've been dragging an old steel racer up the same hill every day this year and I knew when I put it together out of old parts the rear wheel hub (freehub) was a tad loose.
I had my suspicions that it was the cause of bad gear changes and the rear gear not staying in the selected gear.
So today I decided to put my newer rear wheel on and see if it made a difference.
Wow, perfect shifting every time I needed a gear.
Another rear wheel for the skip.
It's a Miche Excite. Maybe I can get a replacement freehub but does not seem viable economically.
