Here follow the before, during and after pictures of an utterly senseless act of vandalism at the end of our street on Saturday night.

Good to hear. For those of you inconvenienced by the fire, and also for those who worship at that church, the effects are difficult to imagine. What on earth can these individuals have in their minds?

That's terrible.
Was the church still in regular use? I only ask as there appear to be lots of suspicious fires in old, often listed buildings that have fallen out of use but which developers can't get permission to knock down...

It had been derelict for around 5 years. Grade 2 listed but with planning permission granted to convert into residences.

We had an old Victorian schoolhouse next to where we lived in Sutton, also listed. Pikeys moved in and destroyed the place :-(

What a terrible sad set of pictures, and what a waste of a listed building. I've seen a few recently that were developed into homes without resorting to arson.
