I went for MTB . It's just far more versatile than my road bike

Actually, having thought about it, with 2 road bikes and a tourer, I think a CX bike that will take panniers is the bike I'm missing. Go on, admit it, your ''one bike only'' poll was simply a cunning way of getting us back on the true N+1 path.

I have never had a tourer or even ridden one. There will probably be one added to the N list some day. For now it would be the Roadie over the other two bikes I have.

Tiddles, my Brompton.
He does everything I need from a bike: Slow gentle rides, fast sprints, carries a lot of luggage, pulls a heavy trailer, folds up small for public transport or the boot of the car, doesn't take up much space in the house, carries his own tools and spares.

If only he could make tea and push that button on the tumble dryer when it stops unexpectedly, he'd be perfect.

Being as I do pretty much all of my cycling on a hybrid, this was an easy choice.
I would love to choose to just have a pashley or dutch bike and go for the "elegance dahling" style, I know I'd be cross with it at the first hill.
I'm quite happy to hire a mtb when I want one.
