I am eligible for SAGA membership and have been for a while.

I recall that, from when I was ineligible, the claimed benefits e.g. discounts and exclusive offers were illusory.

Is that still the case?

They keep sending us letters offering cheap insurance. Have phoned a couple of times. Either they won't quote or are stunningly expensive. The reason they give is either that it's because we need business cover, or the medical issues are outside their standard conditions of cover or similar.

As far as holidays and cruises and so on are concerned I don't want to go away with a bunch of over 50s, most of whom are probably over 70s. If I go away for a week or so I'd rather the other people there were mixed, with some younger people some older, some children and some families and so on. (perhaps not so keen on groups of teens and twenties though).

I use them for motor insurance, They were a bit cheaper than all the others I looked at. I also use their self-select SIPP.

Funnily enough it was a car insurance related conversation with an eighty five year old friend of mine yesterday that brought SAGA to the forefront of my consciousness. He'd mentioned Age Concern as a possible source of a cheaper insurance quote and I suggested SAGA then remembered that I was old enough to throw my hat into the ring of SAGA benefits or not as the case may be.

I've spent half an hour looking round the web site and there was nothing there to cause me to want to return.

I don't know anything about SAGA as an organisation but I do know that insuring your bikes on your SAGA Buildings and Contents insurance is a pretty good deal. About £20 extra p.a. for £1200 of bikes and no silly small print either.
