I've got literally one day free in Dublin in July. Never been to Ireland before - what should I see and do with that day?

Cheers

Plenty to do, the easiest is to get one of their hop on/ hop off tour buses; they all stop at the Guiness Brewery for instance.

Walk around, do some shopping, see historical places, have a pub meal with a pint and chat to people... lovely place to do that. Have never been disappointed.

Jamieson distillery - you get to comparatively taste their product with other whiskies.
Chester Beatty Library - sounds a bit dry but a world class museum.

Get the walking tour that starts at Trinity College at 11 am (IIFC). Takes a couple of hours for about €10. Superb value for money. All the history of Ireland that you'll ever need. And make sure they show you the bullet holes in the statue outside the O'Connell St Post Ofice!
