I know the family through my work and they have had a really rough time since the accident (a young horse reared as she was training it then fell on her and shattered her pelvis and injured the surrounding areas)

i feel like russell howard without the comedy now

How fantastic and a testament to her determination!
I know my daughter (19) would be gutted if she couldn't ride again - she's been riding since she was 10 and currently training to be an instructor.

Brilliant! I had a similar accident 15 years ago. The horse I was riding bolted with me, he lost his footing and i fell he then stumbled again and fell on top of me. I suffered a broken back, fractured skull, 5 broken ribs, a dislocated elbow and my neck is now not as straight as it should be as it was stood on by the horse as he got up. It was just over a year before I was able to get back in the saddle and the feeling was amazing (and a little terrifying!).
