There's been plenty 'interesting' but essentially impractical bike light concepts come up on kickstarter in the last couple of years.

This, however, looks bloody brilliant:

Contactless dynamo light that puts out quite a serious amount of light.

Rear light illuminates brighter when you start to slow down making it a brake light of sorts.

I'm usually cynical about such things, but this actually looks amazing.

Looks a fascinating idea. I wonder whether there's still a little ''mag-drag'' when the light is off. And what wireless computers will make of it.... But it does look like an elegant and ingenious solution.

I very much doubt that it can put out any more than the tiniest amount of light. I reckon the photos show the level of illumination you'd get after you've been "charging" it up for several hours.

Very interesting!

My only concern would be the positioning of the light: being low down and obscured from one side by the wheel; however in the FAQ they mention a version which has the LED separate from the dynamo.

Looks awesome, but i'm sceptical of buying products like this before there are any real reviews. $199 for a front and rear light that you have no idea how it works in the real world!
