As we speak I'm sitting by the pool in Tenerife relaxing with a cold beer, but earlier on it was a somewhat different situation.
This morning I hired a cheap mountain bike to explore the local area and enjoy the sights.I ended up in Los Christianos and this is were things got really interesting.I ended up in the old part of the town were the roads are narrow and aligned with tall apartments.
Whilst minding my own business I could see this "local" chap standing in the middle of the road shouting and waving his hands around about 50 metres ahead.
I stopped the bike trying to work out what his problem was.
My split second thought was he was having some sort of episode/ moment.
Bearing in mind everything happened so quickly,and within seconds I heard a bang three stories up from an apartment right above my head.
I quickly looked up to see smoke coming from it and a terrified cat standing on the balcony wall.
A split second later another bang came out and the poor old cat made a jump for it (hope he was ok I never saw it again).
Another second or two there was one almighty bang and I dropped the bike and cowered down getting showered by glass.As soon as it stopped I got well away.
I could see the road showered with debris and that patio door completely blown out and resting on the veranda wall.
There was a lot of people about but from my knowledge nobody was hurt.
I hung around until the emergency services came.
When I got back to my apartment I decided to have a quick shower and low and behold I found a small piece of glass in my shorts pocket.
I doesn't take a genius to work out were that came from.
