i was sitting on the side of the road in my favourite hedge when i fancied a gambol in the field opposite. it's quite a quiet lane in cheshire so i usually just run out and leg it at high speed.
today, i was nearly hit by a bicycle; in fact i'm sure it nearly caught the back of my tail. i've looked on the squirrelnet and it seems that because the bike in question was called a 'fixed wheel' it meant that the rider, even though he was on the 'tops' and could not reach the brake levers, was able to just slow down enough using leg braking.
just as well eh?
