A41 Backford - Chester

Does anyone know what they are doing on the A41 / Liverpool Road heading away from the M56 toward Chester. They seem to be digging up the grass verge?

I am hoping this is to be a nice cycle path.

Try looking on the Highways Agency website. They do a really good and up to date list on local roadworks.
