Hi everyone,

In my area there are several bike stands, and there are a number of bikes that have remained locked to these bike stands for over a year. They haven't been touched.

I was thinking to write to Wandsworth council about having them removed because they are taking up bike locking space, but then thought I should ask on here first.

What should I do?

Thanks

I think contacting the LA is the best bet. Amazing they have not been stripped TBH.

The reason why they are still there is because they are so crap their owners couldnt be othered to retrieve them. Also no self respecting thief will risk getting caught for the sake of rusty old shoot. There is also a bizzare chance the owners forgot about them. Take this numpty for example:

Friend of mine (many many years ago) went out for a night on the town ... went by bike but was unable to remember where he might have locked the bike up at the beginning of the night. He never found that bike and still gets teased occasionally about it now!

We're cyclists. We only feel stupid when we fall off our bikes

What I am going to do is take pictures of these bikes and then post a letter with them to Wandsworth Council.

I should refer to them as abandoned bikes, right?

As if any more evidence was needed that these muppets are paid obscene amounts of money . Fancy forgetting you own any car, let alone a 'supercar', what a cock!

Mind you, isn't he the same scumbag that's just dumped his girlfriend and one year old son to shack up with a page 3 tart?

We reported a left bike to our local council a few months back. They came and put a sign on it, waited a few weeks and then took it away.

Just let them know.
