I'm sure she's stalking me. Whenever I turn on the CD player or the radio she's whining away.
Now I like her style of singing, and I like the type of songs she sings, she's hugely talented but I just can't abide her voice, I mean really cannot abide listening to her..
Others rave about her and she's definately the star of the moment.

What d'you lot reckon?

I have the same kind opinion about lady Ga-Ga. All over the music channels.

Please go away and take your 'Poker face' with you.

Not the sort of thing I'd choose to listen to, but , whenever her songs are on the radio I find myself singing along to them.
Now her talking voice on the other hand

Ah, now Gaga. She's not a good singer at all. And I'd question her creativity. She's just the creation of a producer. She might play the piano well, but she was just fortunate to be picked to fill the role that any one of thousands of affluent, private school-educated young women could have filled.

Now Gaga I like, was impressed watching her live performance on the tellybox the other night.

Gaga can sing bloody well - I didn't know this until her radio 1 big weekend performance where she did some jazz stuff.

I like Adele, but she definately has a bit of that smokers voice about her

You see, this is where I beg to differ, I bloody hate that screechy whiney noise.

She (Adele) doesn't do it for me either.

Never heard of her before so I just had a look at Adasta's link. She's obviously competent at what she does but unfortunately that sort of song has been done a zillion times before, usually by the tedious Elton John. I tend to agree with FF's verdict of her. That said, she perhaps has the potential to have a decent bluesy-rock sort of voice but if she sticks to MOR pap then she definitely won't be on my listening agenda.

I'd like to see them get their vocal chords around Bacharach's back catalogue... the true test of a good singer.

in fairness, Adele did do a fine job at the electric proms singing with Burt, but none of his 'guests' were a patch on the 'unknown' singers in his band.

If you asked her she'd say yes. The truth is that when the producer who'd found a gap in the market picked her from the many to fill it, he didn't like her own stuff and made her change it.

She's no more a songwriter than Jordan is an autobiographer.

so if he made her change it, it's still her 'stuff'.

Even the Beatles wouldn't have been half the band they where without a few helpful hints from their producer... drop this, try that, that's the producers job.
