Adjusting cable

Hi has anyone ever fitted a new derailleur gear cable to the dogleg? Or adjusted there cable though the front gear lever because of cable stretch

I shortened mine because I bought an H type and put lower bars on.

And also adjusted it.

I remember it being quite problematic and I thought I'd mangled it on more than one occasion.

What is it you need to know?

Hi Kell my chain pusher is set ok yet i cant get my chain to go up on biggest sprocket quick enough takes about 8 secounds after changing gear to go up on the sprocket the pusher is not pushing idler wheel over quick enough yet it's set ok have cleaned pusher could it be cable stretch or could it be the little spring inside pusher? I was going to try changing cable to dogleg but will open gear lever first and drop cable down 1 groove have you tryed this?

I did play about with mine a fair bit when I had a similar problem.

I completely removed the chain pusher, cleaned it and regreased everything. This seemed to cure it for me - and it's free to try before committing to new cables.
