Hello

I need some advice please. I need a new bike that will cater for my future needs.
1 - Charity ride from Bristol to Glasgow (one off)
2 - 20 mile a daily commuter
3 - Starting to move into Triathlon (not seriously)

If anybody could provide some advice please on a suitable bike that would fulfil these future commitments, i'd be very grateful.

Many Thanks
Tom

A road bike, maybe. Without an idea of budget, it's difficult to be much more specific really...

Has to be a road bike.
Never seen a triathlete/iron man type on anything less/different.
Budget is your only limiting factor.

My budget is about £600-800

Thanks so far ..
Try the Cube Peloton or the Giant Defy range of bikes.
Both have excellent kit for your cash & readily available at your price point.
They are both comfortable & very well made too - so they won't cripple you or fall apart.
'Tis Sale season too so you will get a great deal on a 2013 model with higher spec.
Good Luck Hunting.

You'll find it hard to buy a bad bike for that sort of money.

Visit a decent local bike shop (or several) as a starting point and look at what's available. Getting a bike that fits well and feels comfortable is as important as anything else IMO.

Get a Cinelli Experience Veloce 2013. I did, and it's incredibly good fun/value for the money if you can find one in the end of season sales. About £650 if you shop around, but hurry.

Thanks everybody.

I've been looking at the Cube Peloton Pro for a while but yesterday when I went to have a test drive I realised it didn't have mounts for racks. I'm therefore trying the defy range tomorrow morning.

Many Thanks

The Defy 1 doesn't have mounts, previously the 2 and below did (but check that's still the case)

Have you looked at Boardmans? Seen those racked up
