Hi I am looking to buy a new bike and i wondered if anyone had some suggestions I ride to work everyday and clock up around 80-90 miles a week and once or twice a year load up the bike and spend a few days cycling on the continent. I currenlly have a Claud Butler urban 500 I am thinking about something a bit better and would be happy spending up to a £1000. I am not happy with having some many gears that I just dont use and not to mention the maintenance. I have looked into the Shinano Alfine hub and this seems like a reasonable alternative. I need a flat handle bar - getting too old to be hunched over!
