Aero/Tri Bars - Amazing

My flatmate bought a bike a while back (He rode it about three times then sold it on after a year...)

It came with a set of clip on tri bars that he never used

So at the weekend I stuck them on my bike and I took it out on my usual fast route last night.

AMAZING!!!!!!!

Wish I had been timing it properly, must have shaved a good time of my usual for a 10. Headwinds were suddenly not a problem, I was really powering along!

Wish I had tried them out earlier!

I immediately went one minute quicker for the 10 on my standard road bike, first time out without getting used to the new position (which, in retrospect, wasn't even a very good position as the frame was quite large with a fairly tall head tube).

No other modification makes this sort of difference (as I've found out since getting a pointy helmet: still posting the same times as when wearing a backwards cycling cap)

I have them on my TT bike(well obviously) and they make a HUGE difference when it comes to strong head winds.
I wouldnt have them on my normal bike all the time though, but i do like them.
