I have now got to a decision on getting a merida bike but as a sportive i am doing gets closer i want to know which is better.

The sportive is starting at stockton on tees quayside and heads into the north yorkshire moors it has 6568 ft of climbing and is 72 miles long

The bikes i am looking at are the merida reacto 5000 and the scultura 5000

Personally I'd ignore the sportive; it's a red herring.

Which one is best for you long-term? They're both very decent bikes although I do like the Scultura.

That would be the reacto due to being ultegra groupset apart from 105 direct brakes
