So, new to the forum; came across it when I was working out which bike I should get...

I had a Raleigh Pursuit (black, silver tape) when I was 15 to buy a computer. Dull trade? Perhaps, but it did get me a career too...

So it's my first bike for 22 years. [Not counting a cheap MTB].

But have always fancied a 'real' bike - just couldn't justify the expense if I wasn't going to use it. But I have a virtually cyclo-pathic sister and brother-in-law, so they got me up to speed with the Ride 2 Work scheme and suddenly, financially, it was a bit more realistic.

So, following loads of research I've just taken delivery of a Genesis Croix De Fer. Looks great; I'll be out on it in the next couple of days and will probably post up a bit of a review somewhere...

I'm now off to search for lubricants...

It is a great bike but chain failure on ride #2 and then a puncture yesterday...It's all a learning curve...

The nice bike rental man at Tatton Park leant me his puncture repair kit, so well done him.
