Ahooga folding ebike

Just saw an ad flash up on my news feed for what appears to be a new folding bike range by Ahooga, made in Belgium.
First impressions are they look far nicer (less industrial) than Brompton.

Came on here to see if anyone has tried them, but can't find any mention.

Looks good.

Sold in UK by de Ver Cycles in Streatham High Road.

The fold isn't as small as a Brompton and requires the removal of the front wheel.

I'll stick to Dahon copies, like the Carrera folders.

I bet that 20" Ahooga folds as small as a 20" G Spot, which in turn doesnt package appreciably smaller than other 20 inchers.

And who'd buy a bike from Eddie Hitler?

I watched the video and it doesn't show you the bike being folded in one sequence. There are lots of editing cuts.

Looks a well thought out folder. I like that the main part of frame is triangular, given that it's aly rather than steel. Also, the oily bits sit inside the fold. Wonder if they're fully manufactured in Belgium, or just assembled there? The non leccy version priced at 1800 euros, or 1540 quids, so a challenger to Brommie G for sure.

Having now watched several videos of each, it definitely does.

That's a (blatant) copy of the folding method of a Brompton. However, the IP for Brompton isn't now protected? I can understand it being copied (the sincerest form of flattery), all manufacturers 'develop' the ideas of others, and it generally leads to a better product for the consumer. Maybe B could 'develop' this triangle theme (tweeked) to good effect, but there would be nowhere to store the spare inner tube in the frame

The fold is arguably a Brompton copyish, but Ahooga had their 20 incher on the market in 2015, long before the G sport so they were first to applupy it to proper sized hoops. Who cares anyway? Not me.

The frame hopefully moves the game on in terms of the solidity of that basic platform, something Brompton always struggled with. I'd quite like to try one if anyone on here has or buys one - im always interested in decent folders that can accommodate the larger and heavier rider.

Some B clones over this way already have 20" wheels and disk brakes, wonder if they'll diverge a little more and do somethin similar to Ahooga? They already do aly versions of B, but personally I'd only consider something triangulated for such a frame.
