For sale is a used Airborne Blackbird racing bike, built by myself - there is a very highprobability that this is the only bike in the world with this exact combinationof parts!
Please note the size of this bike is 56cm (equivalent toptube length) and is set up for someone around 1.8m tall (5’11”).However as this frame has a compact geometry, it is possible with a stem swapand some adjustment to fit slightly taller and shorter riders.
Frame: Airborne Blackbird, 6061 Aluminium with Carbon Fibreseat and chain stays. This frame is aerodynamic, with a tear-drop profile downtube and a rear wheel cutaway in the seat tube - it could make a good TT bike.
Airborne were specialists in titanium frames, but made a few with other materials includingthis one. Their business model was to sell online allowing customers tocustomise the spec, however I bought this frame from ‘Fat birds don’t fly’ andbuilt it up myself.
Fork: Deda Black Magic – very lightweight monocoque carbonfibre.
Wheels: Xero XR-1/XCR-1 – the front and rear wheels areslightly different models but share the same rim profile. These are lightweightwheels (approx. 1550g) and very free spinning, with lots of rim wear left. Atpresent they are fitted with Continental GP4000 tyres.
Groupset: Campagnolo Centaur (2006 range). This is a fullCentaur groupset from when Centaur, Record and Chorus all shared the same basicmechanical specifications, excluding the bottom bracket axle length. Most ofthe groupset is in the limited ‘Century Grey’ colour, excluding the chainsetwhich is silver. The cassette is 12-25 (10 speed), the chainset is 53-39UltraDrive (machined chainrings). The gear levers are the better type, whichallow multiple down- and up- shifts; I recently overhauled these with newG-springs and grease, so they should have a few thousand miles before needingany more maintenance.
Finishing kit: Mainly Ambrosio (Italian) parts: Carbon fibreseatpost, lightweight machined stem (Venturi), ergonomic handlebars (lite-II).The saddle is a BBB model with a cutout section.
I will not be including pedals, light brackets, or bikecomputer with this bike.
I'm looking for offers in the region of £750 but I am very open to negotiation.
The bike is in York and I can't post it. Viewing is possible.

Thanks for looking,
Jens
