We where playing about with this in work last night, the quilty is amazing at it's perfect night vision. What we did was rigged it up to a BB gun battery pack then to the video in on a mini DV cam... then took it a wonder in a blacked out part of the building. I'll get some fottage up. So for on a bike it can be mounted on the bars with the mini DV in a back back... a very cheap way of getting amzing night footage.

...and a photo of the set up! How big is the aldi camera? Sounds good if we could make our own!

Maplin had one or two CCTV cams for around the £20 mark. I did think about buying them for wildlife as they have good IR lamps on them.

I think these have different sensors to the more expensive helmet and CCTV cameras. I think these are CMOS rather than CCD.. I think that CCD is the better sensor generally?

As for size. The ones I have looked at are around 50mm long and 30mm wide barrel.

I wonder if you could put one of these on the front of your bike and wire up a screen to it. Then cycle at night without any lights at the front or without the need for high powered lights. It would be a really wierd way to cycle.

lol how about proper night vision

comes complete with a helmet  not too keen on the price though. I wonder what it would feel like to go cycling wearing these things.

LOL I always thought about putting "CCTV Cycle" on my bike and top to dissuade bad motorists. Just a rambling thought..
