Aldi merino tops

Did anyone buy one of the Marino jumpers from aldi and are they any good?

I bought one. It is ok but only a Merino mix, wore it under my softshell jacket on Friday and I wasn't cold despite sub zero temperature. Not as good as a proper merino jersey, you get what you pay for.

I got one of those too.  Also wore it under a softshell last week but on top of a technical T-shirt, bit itchy otherwise.

Got a base layer to help with that.

May go and invest in one then.

I have one and find it to be pretty good. I have cycled in -2 with this over a long sleeved base layer and was warm enough.

It keeps it's shape well after washing.

It is too itchy to be comfortable without a base layer IMO.

Merino wool content is low but it seems well made.

Bought one this morning to go over my thermal baselayer, just hope I get the chance to try it out soon.

I can recommend one.

The only slight negatives are it is very slightly itchy, the white band across the front is grey and it isn't wind resistant so you need to wear a coat over it or a wind proof under it. Oh and it doesn't have a rear pocket!

At this time of year I don't think any of the above negatives really matter as I wont be cycling without a base layer and coat (with a pocket) anyway.

i think the negatives will be outweighed by the baselayer and wearing a jacket over the top.

just hope i get the chance to try it out this weekend.
