Sorry for dragging up another lighting query.

I've just bought one of the Aldi torches that was on offer last week for £11.99 and very bright it is too!!

My query is; this torch runs off 3 x AAA batteries, but could they be replaced with a 18650 rechargeable that people are talking about on other lighting threads?

If yes, is it just a case of removing the plastic battery carrier and putting the new battery in?

Or am I just talking through my backside again ?

Thanks

The 18650's are longer, so you will need an extension tube - think they are 650-700mm long, but yes, in theory you should.

You need an extender like this. It should be the right length, whether the thread is the same is a different question - But at only 99p I'd think it's worth a punt!

On a slightly unrelated note, how the heck do they make any profit off 99p with free postage from Hong Kong?

Edit: You can see here it looks like the same extender this seller gives away with the same/very similar torch.

Thanks for the replies.

I'd feel ashamed at only spending 99p so I'll have to buy something else too !!!!

By the way, has anybody used Lumen Junkies ?

I've seen their website and they are located locally to me.

They just seem a bit slow replying to a couple of emails I've sent them so it got me wondering how good their service might be.

Thanks again.
