Alternative uses for cycling kit...

Just been sledging with the kids, having left my wellies at work
Only thing in the shoe box remotely suitable were my SPD cycling shoes...WOW! Awesome choice:
waterproof, cleat gives great grip and light enough to run in! Have decided that wellies are soooo last year
Anyone got any other alternative uses for cycling kit (keeping it clean of course!)

Nope! I am well equiped when it comes to snow (due to my family living in Sweden that is), but I do use my cycling buff.. coz it's cool!! :becool: (despite what @TheDoctor thinks)

Cycling gloves are great for sledging. Also once used full thermal cycling kit under my regular clothes when queuing for a bloody Tracey Island for my younger brother many years ago. It was about minus 5 outside ToysRUs.

Buffs are cool, Fluffy. I don't tend to use mine much for cycling, but they're excellent for skiing.
My Aldi thermal top and winter gloves don't get much use for cycling, but they're excellent for skiing too.
Conversely, a lightweight wicking base layer I bought for skiing actually makes me too warm, so I mostly wear it if I'm snorkelling.
It's all too easy to get a badly sunburnt back, and you don't realise till you're out of the water...

Cycling gloves are great for sledging.

Also for walking. I used mine when climbing Pen y Fan in blizzard conditions (probably could have picked a better day..), and they kept my hands nice and toasty.

The view from the top was amazing!
