Doing the Exmouth Exodus in a few weeks - looking to take a windproof gilet in case it turns cold/windy/rainy. Or all of the above. I'll also take lightweight rain protection (Montane Featherweight Velo) so this is for that middle ground really.

The Night Vision is attractive for its high visibility. The Etape gets good reviews too. Etape is around £27, NV £36.

Any differences other than the reflective aspects? What others would you consider?

Well the Etape comes in a very bright red so thats pretty visible. The reflectives on it are pretty small but if you use with good lights that should be fine.

IIRC Endura and Mavic do full reflective hiviz gilets in bright orange, the reflective material on the mavic is pretty substantial. Its double the price last time I looked though

Thanks all. However I went with the Night Vision, which arrived today. Crikey it's certainly hi vis!

Now I've got my hands on a gilet I can't understand why I didn't buy one ages ago. Looks like the perfect bit of gear for when it just starts getting a little nippy, or keeping showers off. Have a feeling I'll make a lot of use of it.
