Hi everyone. I'm planning to buy a road bike and I need your opinion. I'm basically choosing between a new road bike and slightly used for the same price. What I need to know is are the used bike worth it? It's Kildemoes RTC 6.5 and I can't really find any information. What I know is that front fork is carbon and it's been in very good hands and everything works perfectly. It sells for 170euros or 185$. Here is the photo: 90685af38a2a9a66c466e22c6d4ae040773.jpg
Other road bike is Jupiter Sprint 2014 model and it's brand new for 160euros or 172$.
So... I need to know does the Kildemoes model have an advantage over Jupiter ant is it worth it to buy a good used bike or new decent one.

A quick check suggests that the bike is Danish, so if you are lucky @steveindenmark may be able to throw some light on it.

The Kildemoes website does not appear to show any road bikes at the moment and the picture is not very clear. The state of the chain suggests a possibly lax attitude to maintainence  so I would advise getting someone with a bit of knowledge to have a close look st it.

Good luck

I see Kildemoes bikes all the time but must admit that I dont think I have ever seen road bike made by them. They make commuter bikes.

Kasioris, where do you live and what gears does that bike have?

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Its hard to tell , from what i can gather the sprint is 16 speed with older style 2300 shifters with thumb button and an alloy fork and the pictured bike is 18 speed sora with carbon fork ?
It depends on how well looked after the second hand bike has been maintained , it could turn out to be a false economy if it needs a lot of work.If you know a bit about bikes or know someone who does you could always take a look and make an offer based on what you think it might need ?

EDIT
Have you tried contacting the seller for more information ?

Both bikes fit me good. The kildemoes bike is in good condition as owner said and it's weighting 9kg. The Jupiter is brand new so no comment about condition. What I need to know is that would you recommend to buy mediocre Jupiter and save up to a really good road bike or buy used Kildemoes which is better.
