This one could have fitted anywhere really, I just wanted as many as possible to be able to answer.

Its not about who you will/will not be voting for and if possible not to try knocking one party or the other(for the purpose of this experiment alone). Or why for that matter.

There is a name for this type of predicting, it just doesn't spring to mind at this moment.

You may even feel like placing a bet Thursday evening, based on what is shown here.

If you're talking about seats from the huge total number, I would think the big gainer will be Labour. This is not because Labour are doing super well at the moment (the polls are all right for them nationally at the moment) but simply reflects the local election cycle - we're mostly comparing with 2008 where the Conservatives won bucket loads of seats. As they are now in government and the honeymoon period is over it would be extremely difficult to defend all of these seats numerically, let alone gain. Total numbers though, various councils will change hands.

This is about the total number of seats gained overall in the local elections.
The experiment is to see if we on here can make a better prediction than anyone else regarding the outcome.
Whether any deserve to be in is not a valid answer, in this case. Nice but not valid.

"Other" included due to the large number of registered parties.

I was waiting for a carry out to be delivered last night, and a chap appeared at the gate and gradually made his way up the path, constantly trying to see something behind our house*.

Turns out he was the Independent Candidate for the local election delivering flyers and not the guy delivering my dinner. Still, if he goes to the effort of delivering his own flyers then I'll at least need to look up what he intends to do.

* - I can only assume he was looking at the houses behind us to see where he could go next
