Why's he braking so much? Are BMW drivers unable to anticipate?

I got the impression he was thinking of stopping, possibly "to have a word"!

He was angry because you were in a sensible road position, you were not subservient to the Beamer. You didn't pay him his due respect.

Good job that fellow!

It was Blue Van Man's (BMVV anagram ) time to get irate today. I decided to infuriate him my turning right in a right turn lane but stayed where I was in the queue one car back from the ASL that must of realy wound him up. The lights went green and the car in front and I went through a large gap with room comfortably for 2 cars to follow. I was only about 2-3ft from the back of the car in front which was my mistake I should of instantaneoulsy evapourated leaving room for him to drive over the top of the car in front, that started him beeping. Its usually a road where I'm much faster than traffic but somebody up ahead had pushed the ped crossing and when I stopped for red, he shot through almost knocking the ped down. Two minutes later surprise, surprise I'd caught him up again but as he was clearly a moron I opted to stay a couple of cars back.

May be related to the one who almost drove into me as I turned right, because I had stopped signalling as I began to turn (wet road, tight corner, needing to brake). He yelled at me that I should be signalling; now, the fact that he watched me signal from some way back, move over to the centre of the road and begin my manouevre wasn't enough. I should obviously only turn in if I keep my arm out indefinitely....

.. so he was obviously the only van-man (of whatever colour) in the whole of the world who always signals correctly and in good time. [/sweeping generalisation mode];)

Absolutely, in fact if he was on a bike, he'd be like the guy this morning who brushed past me as I waited in the ASL, just so that he could wait beyond the line. (and who I've seen before, and has no brakes and has to stop with the sole of his foot).

A pillock is a pillock, no matter what the transport, just like a decent person is a decent person...

That happened to me in Edinburgh too, never anywhere else.

A twat with better taste I think..

For what it's worth, he was annoyed that you were so far out in the middle of the road. Pretty natural reaction for someone in a rush (to get to the back of the queue quicker).

I'm the twat with an Audi! ;)

Being a cyclist too though I like to think I'm considerate to our two wheeled brethren (and trikes) when I'm in the old nazi-wagon though.
