Hello everyone

Greetings from Greece. I have this bike in my possession.

54cm original colour

Please help me to find the history of this rare frameset. I also know that it's bespoke made in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. Someone also told me that the manufacturer responds here as Featch. Please everyone help me to find the history and the value of this frameset. Thanks in advance for your great help!

Interesting that it's 531ST, not Competition. I presume that's to withstand stresses imposed by a hefty sprinter.

Does weight (as in the what 100g diff between ST and C?) matter as much on a track bike anyway? I've no idea on this era steel bikes but don't modern track bikes have to have weight added at times to get back upto the minimum weight?

Sometimes track bikes were made of stiffer tubing or had tubing brazed inside tubing. To stop flex and all that during the "stomp"

Steel ones also have round fork blades because they need to be stiff in all directions.

Interestingly, round fork blades are not as stiff fore and aft as oval, the practice of using track forks on TT bikes back in the 70's made for some interesting braking, not that driiled Weinmann 500's could do. Much braking lol
