not to worry: no one in the uk cares about cricket except in the rare circumstances that England wins.
I'm in the UK, therefore I'm no one! I cared deeply about English cricket when it was in intensive care (2 or 3 decades) but the patient recovered and there's now only South Africa that is the clearly superior team.

Anyhow, welcome Bike_Me and I apologise for our fellow forumites who took 16 posts to get round to saying g'day mate! (No idea about the charge mixer unfortunately....)

Hahaha thanks all for the welcome! Much appreciated!
Until the Aus cricket teams sort out their issues, I'll be diverting all my attention to the Wallabies, but then again, they haven't been doing too well either.

Speak for your self.
Well, i was speaking from my experience: I was usually harangued on the rare occasions that England beat Australia, but found in general people of British origin hardly notice the cricket was on otherwise. And the kids you might see playing it in the park tend to be of Carribean or sub-Continent ("asian") origin.

The other thing that struck me is how quickly the flags are removed from cars the second that England is eliminate from the World Cup etc

If I hadn't known you were a brit, I would've mistaken you for an aussie...

Um, what makes you think that I'm a Brit? Technically, I guess I am - dual citizen, these days.

Larger version of my avatar may help ...

Take it for me where I work we always have one eye on the cricket. Regarding kids in parks. I dont actually think its a good indicator. They dont even play football like we did when I was a kid. At least we have kids in the UK playing cricket.

Australia cant even get eleven players to play on a test pitch at the moment. Especially if they haven't done their homework.

Welcome to CC, BTW, Anth!

Plenty of good cycling country in and around the home counties, as there is throughout the rest of the UK. And there are plenty of good folk near and around you if you want to go out on a forum stuff your face with cake and beer ride!
