Another bike decision

My darling wife, (just in case she happens to read this) has given me permission for N+1.
At 6'1" and a 92cm inside leg I seem to be a borderline 58 and 60 frame, so a test would be a really good idea.

I get regular mail shots from Planet so a SL Pro carbon seems a contender, plus its easy for me to get to for a test / fitting.

Wiggle have a generous returns policy so a Focus Cayo would seem a safe choice to try.

Both look to have broadly similar kit levels to me, but I'm happy to be corrected.

finally for consideration a Dolan Tueno. much further to go to try/fit, lower level groupset, looks to be an older model (new ones all seem to be white) but that frame ......

Any opinions?

Have you looked into ribble bike builder? Very good for the price and you can put it into the price bracket you want to.
Also i dont know but if you contact them or live in Lancashire you maybe able to go in and get the correct fitting for you.

Big +1 for the Cayo. I've been running a Cayo Pro for a couple of years and it's never missed a beat.
I also have a Focus Mares AX 1.0 and I used to have a Focus Raven Exreme MTB, so I consider myself somewhat familiar with Focus products, and I'd receommend them to anyone.
IMHO there is nothing to match them for value for money.

Had a trip to PX this morning. Wondered around the bike porn on display. Friendly bunch (and dog) in there.
Sat on an Sl pro on a turbo, impressed with the slick sram shifting (last road bike I owned had downtube shifters). Didn't feel anymore an aggressive riding position than my Pompino

"If you order it now I'll give you a jersey as well"

Should have my new bike in a couple of weeks.


BTW they are apparently changing the downstairs of the building into an 'outlet' type store, with the showroom upstairs. It may not be my last visit there.

Red of course. Red bikes are faster.

Just the basic sram rival. I restrained myself on the upgrades as I could get very carried away having had a play with the PX bike spec online thing, and with Ribbles for that matter. I can also point out now to Mrs. Pm (using her own logic) in the future how much I saved and thus spend it on more bike bits

I went for Red to as I let my son choose the colour for me. I really had hoped he would haven chosen black at the time, but I am so happy now he didnt, it looks absolutely fantastic in red the pics on the site dont do that colour justice IMO.

Its nice and shiny id recommend a quick polish with some turtle wax to protect the finish and its even better !.

I'm hopefully popping to the P-x store at the weekend. Going to go for the basic Rival bike but with Model B wheels instead. And you've just reminded me, they ask for you to ring before you go to get a fitting, need to ring them.

I just drove across and had the place to myself. That said it was a Tuesday morning and the sales guy, Craig? said the place had been busy the previous couple of days. Don't forget to blag a jersey (I was offered 2 free bottle cages as well which may have been better in hindsight, but I only really need 1) <BR><BR>edit:2 cages instead of the jersey
