Another London Newbie

Hi Guys
I kept getting directed here by google so I figured it was time to join!

I moved to London about a year ago, started commuting on a hybrid about 3 months later, got taken out by a taxi 6 months after that . . . then bought a better bike! I'm now trying to put some miles on it (and my legs!) and get fit enough to join a proper club so if anyone knows of/wants to go on some medium paced weekend/evening rides let me know!

Hello and welcome.

There's a regular ride meets at Hyde Park Corner (Wellington Arch) at 9.30am every Sunday. It's usually a fairly gentle paced affair.

Then there are the Friday Night Rides to the Coast which are fun but dark.

Be nice to see you out there one Sunday. Depending on the powers that be, its either a coffee'n'loos amble, a sightseeing pootle, or an all out dash. Personally, I like to do all three by combining the first two with a hard deadline that demands the third

The Sunday rides sound like fun. I'm cycling to Cambridge to see the parents this sunday (any route advice???) but the week after would be great.

Probably south herts to Cambridge tbh, I reckon I'll get the train to the other side of the M25 somewhere - less chance of getting squished that way!
