It had to happen sooner or later... 1885 miles since taking up cycling in June last year and first visit by the P. Fairy.
Hit a pothole pretty damn hard and immediately felt the front tyre go down. Had to walk half a mile or so as was halfway down a pitch black lane (Pikes Pool Lane, Finstall if you know it) walked up a drive to a few houses to get some light so I could see to replace tube.
Guy was stood on the doorstep of one of the houses and offers help and a drink, thanked him and said I should be OK but he brought me a coffee anyway.. Which was really nice and appreciated!
Was a bit weird as decided today that was fed up carrying round a rucksack just for a multitool, a pump and a spare tube and had gone to Evans in Birmingham to buy some CO2 and this Topeak saddlebag which I'm really impressed with. I also bought some Park repair patches.
Really impressed with the CO2, I was up and running again in about 10mins - not bad I think for a first attempt! (Athough was stopped longer finishing my coffee
)
So anyway, where do I get my badge?
