hi everyone this is oldfellah himself, i am 74yr old and from liverpool (born and bred)
when i was 16yr old i joined the liverpool century r.c in the days when it was a men
only club. come on 16yr old, no girls!! uuggh.
the club had many stalwarts of old in them days i recall oscar dover, geoff bewley, there were others
some from those days are still members now like arthur simms and pete gilroy and some have sadly
joined that great c.c above.
unfortunately i dont ride anymore i am well out of it and keep going using an exercise bike, dont go far
in case in rains or goes dark , i havent got lights or weather gear now.
some lads from my old club have done really well for themselves, riding for htc team on the continent
and this is the strength that the liverpool century provides. it also has an excellent social side to its
membership and all abilities are made welcome as they will help you to improve
must go now, i`m approaching first tea stop at pops cafe (the cyclists den) just before queensferry
anyone remember it ? bye for now
