Hi everyone,I suppose I will be the same as alot of new bike riders (approaching mid 40's,and could do with losing a few pounds) so bought a new bike last summer.Went out on it once and it sat in the spare room ever since.Until this morning....... I blew up the tyres, gave it a once over and went out and had an 11 mile ride, and now I feel great. I can see me doing this alot more often,I might have to set myself a target, maybe 50 miles a month to start off? Sorry for rambling, and hope to to post alot more here in future.

Hi TwoWheelRay and :welcome:.

Well done getting the bike back out again.

Personally I'd suggest leaving the mileage target for the moment and just getting out and enjoying a ride as often as you can, with an increase in distance every once in a while. You'll find the miles tot up quite nicely doing that.

As others said, enjoy your trips however the milage for the moment.
If you start setting goals too early, you might not succeed at first, get frustrated, abandon the bike again.
In time you will achieve the miles.
