hello,im vince and currently living in dagenham east,i finally picked up a road bike last saturday after 11 years away from anything relating to fitness what so ever,my goal is to be able to commute 18 miles each way to work 3 or 4 times a week as soon as i feel im ready for it and also to lose a few stone

got the bike saturday and done 5 miles,i honestly thought i was going to drop dead, followed by 6 miles sunday,8 miles monday,12 miles tuesday and another 12 last night, that is my cycling history for this decade at the moment but hope to improve on it,i have been lurking in the background over the last few weeks reading various threads and advice, great forum and look forward to picking your brains about shoes and clips and tyres and well everything really
thanks for reading

Hello and :welcome: I'm new too! I've just got into cycling for health reasons (I have a heart condition). I have found cycling very addictive! I've had my road bike about 6 weeks and now wonder why I've never ridden one before! I love it ^_^ I have found everyone very friendly and more than happy to help!

thanks Bryony, definitely health/fitness for me also but there is the potential to save £50 a week which is a good incentive to keep at it^_^

haha...true...the 2014 sempre pro 105 is a sweet looking machine^_^,i was reading somewhere that if you want to buy something cycling related is to put 50p per actual mile cycled away for those purchases,if i did manage to commute 3 times a week,i would allready be out of pocket^_^

@Bryony,I have just come out of another hobby and have allmost sold everything related to it,that was the deal indoors haha,so my last hobby is funding this one(for the time being anyway)^_^

I find petrol money saved doesn't even cover half the money wasted on random cycling stuff I don't even need!
