Another what should I buy post

Getting another bike on the C2W got the road bike, but now want a MTB, bought the Giant Defy from James Cycles in Sheffield so went back & they have suggested either of the 2 below, are they okay, which is better, or is there an even better one for similar price out there.

I know nothing about the Cube but Hubby has a Giant Revel and its as reliable as the day is long, comfy to ride and he loves it. Its great on flat trails and also a lot of fun on more challenging terrain. Neither of us are Mountain Bikers in any real sense but for the type of off roading that we do - Cannock Chase and the like - the Revel is great and good value for money too.
