Here for rides.
So I've got Anquet Maps software and a few maps on me lappie
I've got a Garmin Etrex Vista HCx with the OCM maps on an SD card.
I've loaded all the software and browser addins on said lappie - all the tech is working/communicating back and forth.
I'm a dab hand at using bike hike and have dabbled a bit with Bike Route Toaster
I've got a car to do a few motorised test runs.
Are there any decent websites out there telling me how to stitch all these components together, what the pitfalls are of one form of digital mapping over another, and how to get the best out of the kit. Its practical application is what I need to understand better I think; the technology side is 2nd nature to me.
I want to use the Etrex for a spot of route logging, which I've sussed out, but primarily to plot (audax) routes on the maps, load 'em on the Etrex and then follow them from A to B and hopefully, Z.
