Puzzle game procrastinator!

I was doing a cryptic crossword at 00:45 on Monday morning when... KERBANG!!! 
Some passing toerag had kicked my front door really hard. (The door opens to the pavement, no front garden or yard - Coronation St styleee.)
I leapt to my feet and headed towards the door to challenge the culprit(s). Then I thought better of it... I could foresee a violent confrontation ensuing. I sat back down, seething.
An hour later I was still feeling very agitated so I decided to file a police report. I went online and found out where to do it, filled in all the details, then went to bed.
I have had a few follow-up emails since then. I didn't really expect much else to be done, but there was a knock at the door an hour ago and when I opened it I found a policeman and a PCSO standing there. I discussed the events with them and mentioned that a neighbour has CCTV cameras covering that stretch of pavement. Maybe that had caught the incident? They said that they would check, and report back.
The outcome is that the neighbours had their door kicked too, and the CCTV had video of the culprits. Apparently, it was a teenage girl doing the kicking, egged on by two teenage boys! The police are going to take the pictures to the local school to try to identify the teenagers, and if they are identified, steps will be taken. It may not stop them getting into trouble in the future, but at least they will be known to the police.
I am pretty pleased with that result; I didn't really expect much to be done. The police officer thanked me for reporting it. He said that it is important to know about kids getting into low-level misdemeanours. Either they can be persuaded not to do that kind of thing, or at least they will be on the shortlist for attention if they do.
